The Lancaster County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of Manheim Township Police Department, arrested 21-year-old Luis Javier Rivera following the warranted search of a home in the 1900 block of Crooked Oak Drive on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

The task force began investigating Rivera in February after an informant gave a tip. Between then and the search "members of the task force made at least two controlled confidential informant or undercover drug purchases from Rivera," the DA stated.

The task force seized 177.5 grams of powder cocaine, 25 grams of crack cocaine, 370.1 grams of marijuana, $281.00 in US currency, one Glock model 29 10mm handgun with a loaded magazine, and various narcotics paraphernalia, according to the release.

Rivera was charged with several drug offenses and a firearm arm charge, according to his latest court docket.

He has been held in the Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $100,000 in bail, according to the DA and confirmed by court documents.

His formal arraignment is scheduled in Courtroom A on May 15, 2023, at 9 a.m., as stated in his docket.

Rivera has a criminal record for drug offenses in the county dating back to 2019, court records show.

He has served parole and is not allowed to have a gun due to his record.

The sweet tea hiding spot for the cocaine was confirmed to Daily Voice by Sean McBryan, Media Specialist for the Office of the District Attorney of Lancaster County.
